I watched the Portland Trail Blazers playoff game tonight and it was awesome. They beat Houston by 7 and took a 2-0 lead in their playoff series. I watched the game on TV and kept my phone refreshing twitter so I could laugh at the comments. Technology is weird that way.
The weather really sucked today. I want some more sun please.
Metal Memorials by Alex Horton
This is a powerfully written, short essay by a veteran. It's about veterans who wear bracelets with the names of their fallen friends etched on it. It is heavy. It is forcefully written. It is touching.
Essay: 9 of 10
Horton writes like everyman and that is a nice change. There is nothing beautiful in this essay except the sentiment.of honoring soldiers.

I taught this essay and my students really liked it. In fact, it was one of their favorites of the entire year.
