It's been said that teachers don't have favorites but the person who said that is obviously not a teacher. How could we not have favorites? Seriously? I know I try to be fair to all of my students but yes I like some more than others. All teachers do. And if any teachers says that they liked all their students exactly the same, I'd think that was a crazy person. Or a liar. Or maybe a crazy liar.
I'm looking forward to this week. My classes have some good things coming up, the school will announce the name of the new basketball coach, and it's even supposed to be sunny starting on Tuesday. I'm ready for some good things to happen.
Poisoning Daddy by Skip Hollandsworth
This is a fantastic article by Skip Hollandsworth who only writes fantastic articles. It tells the story of a popular high school girl who stole barium acetate from her high school's chemistry lab and poisoned her father to death. It's true and it's creepy.
Article: 10 of 10
I love most everything that Hollandsworth writes and this is no exception. The article catches the reader's attention and doesn't let go. It is amazing that this happened and scary how close she came to getting away with it.
Teachability: Not sure
It's a great piece of writing and I think kids would really enjoy reading it, but what if someone took it as a how-to guide? I wouldn't want that on me so I'm not teaching this one.
